“Sacred Destination”

This is a not so traditional image of the western range of Fountains Abbey, North Yorkshire.

The atmosphere that my image reflects is like the presence I felt there which is filled with a kind of sombre reverence to a Deity that expected complete consecrate until death whereby they would…well you know see the light!

It’s a disused Abbey and all it’s grounds belongs to the National Trust. It’s all in ruins now, but a great place to meander around and take architectural photos and if your lucky a few unhappy monks. Not in the physical of course!
